WORKPLACES across the Wee County are being encouraged to up their step counts as part of a walking campaign.
The Step Count Challenge has been launched by Scotland’s national walking charity Paths for All and will run for four weeks this spring.
The campaign aims to motivate Clacks workers to do more walking, wheeling or cycling more throughout the working day to improve physical, wellbeing and mental health.
Kevin Lafferty, chief executive officer at Paths for All, said: “The workplace is where the majority of us spend a great deal of our day.
“It’s incredibly important that we encourage staff to take a break from the screen, stretch their legs and put wellbeing at the forefront of their minds.
“The Step Count Challenge is a great way for individuals to see how easy it is to move more throughout the day.
“Both employers and employees need to play a part in making the nation healthier and happier – in both a work and personal sense – and this challenge is one way to put your best foot forward.”
The spring challenge is made up of teams of five and teams can register how far they’ve walked or cycled on the Paths for All website.
Clacks businesses can get involved by joining free cycling sessions with Saddle Up at the Clackmannan Development Trust.
