AN ALLOA man, who threatened to murder a neighbour, has been jailed.

Christopher Spence, of Ormiston Drive, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court last Thursday, March 30, by video-link from prison.

He admitted that on May 20, last year, at Ormiston Drive he acted in an aggressive manner towards the man, shouted, swore, approached him, made threats of violence, gestured at him in a threatening manner and repeatedly made derogatory and homophobic remarks.

Spence also admitted that on November 24, at Alloa Road, Tullibody, he breached bail conditions by being in contact with his former partner.

Then on the same day and location, he shouted, swore and made threats of violence.

The court was told that the victim in the first incident was a "neighbour and former associate" of Spence.

Depute fiscal Rachel Wallace said Spence had made threatening comments to the man, saying: "Do you think you're going up my lane with your dogs.

Wait 'til you see what happens when me and you go up that lane."

He then said: "Wait 'til I go in the house and get a knife. I'm going to f****** murder you," drawing his finger across his throat.

Spence also said: "You're a junkie fat b******" and "You're nothing but a poofy b******".

In the other incident, the woman was at home with her children, aged eight to 14, when Spence turned up knocking on the door.

Sheriff Neil Bowie jailed Spence for 280 days and also imposed a one-year non-harassment order.
