THE Kilbagie Roundabout will be subject to temporary traffic lights later this month as the final stage of overnight road works takes place.

Drainage improvement works are set to go ahead from between 8pm and 6am from Saturday, April 22 and Monday, April 24, with temporary lights set up to control traffic at the roundabout during these times.

This phase of the project is the final stage in improvements in the area which involve the widening of the nearby A977 road. The approach to the road will be subject to temporary traffic lights during the process.

Tommy Deans, south east network manager for BEAR Scotland, said: “We appreciate that the improvements in this area have been ongoing for some time and we are pleased to advise that the drainage scheme brings us closer to concluding the enhancements.

“We’re grateful to road users and local communities for their patience and understanding while the works have been carried out.

“It is necessary to close one lane of the A876 at Kilbagie roundabout under temporary traffic lights while we carry out the drainage enhancements for the safety of the workforce and the travelling public.

“This is being done over a weekend to reduce the impact. We’ll then get the final stages of the widening works, including column upgrades completed before the end of April.

“These will be done under the existing overnight lane restrictions.”

All work is weather dependant and motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before travelling.
