AN ALLOA bakers has successfully raised over £500 for Strathcarron Hospice.
Members of staff at Bayne’s, the Family Bakers in Alloa earmarked the Hospice for their fundraising appeal and raised a whopping £510 from raffles and a surprise celebrity guest.
The mascot of the company, Mr Blobby, stopped by the shop to take photos with customers as they shopped.
Audrey Edelman, manager at Bayne’s Alloa, said: “We sold raffle tickets for the advent calendar and added any change that customers left.
“Mr Blobby was out and about in the shop as well.”
“My cousin works at the Hospice and she’s told me all about it so I thought it would be nice to do.
“We’ve already selected Guide Dogs as our next fundraiser.”
John Baynes also contributed to their fundraising efforts and added £250.
