A SOCIAL care leader from Alloa has been shortlisted for three prestigious industry accolades.
The tireless work of Clare Mcmurchie – who leads 10 care services across Perth and Kinross, Clacks and Falkirk as part of social care charity Community Integrated Care – is being recognised across two awards schemes.
Clare and her team have been shortlisted in two categories for innovation in social care services and for outstanding customer service at the Scotland Excel Supplier Excellence Awards.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow next Thursday, May 11.
The Alloa care leader's extensive experience will also be celebrated on May 19 at Scottish Care’s Care at Home and Housing Support Awards where she has been shortlisted for the highly coveted Leadership Award.
Clare said: “I am blown away to be shortlisted for just one award, never mind three.
“It’s amazing to see the work that my team and I have carried out in the community, being recognised at two major sector awards ceremonies.
“For me, seeing people in their own homes and living the lives they deserve is the most important and rewarding thing.
“However, being shortlisted for the awards is the icing on the cake and I’m so humbled and proud of my team.”
Bosses say Clare has had a huge impact on the lives of people she supports while she has been a source of inspiration for colleagues.
Linsey Gallacher, head of operations for Scotland at Community Integrated Care, added: “Most recently, this has included supporting two individuals, who between them had been living in hospital settings for over 90 years, to move into their own homes.
“This is a phenomenal achievement and really showcases the determination, commitment and initiative that we aspire for across our charity.
“Clare is truly changing lives and is an incredible role model for her team and colleagues within the care sector.”
