TICKETS are selling fast for a special anniversary show by an Alloa performing arts school.

TEN, a production set to go ahead at Alloa Town Hall this June, will be marking a decade since Amber Clark became principal at Forefront Stage School.

Pupils present and past are set to perform at what is promised to be four spectacular shows over the weekend of June 16 and 18.

Preparations are well under way for the show, which will feature cabaret style seating and a range of hits from the past 10 years along with fresh pieces.

Reflecting on the past decade, Amber told the Advertiser: “The lows were definitely Covid – that was a huge hit for us, we had to close the studio but made the best of it with Zoom.

“The highs include taking a group of children to Paris, we went in 2020 just before Covid hit.

“We took 25 pupils to Paris that year to perform at Disney – it was definitely a big thing.”

The trip was described as "an experience of a lifetime" by Amber then and came after audition pieces were sent to Disneyland the year before.

The exams and two shows each year have also been a highlight and Amber spoke of how the school has grown over the years.

She added: “It has grown a lot, I can't even think how many pupils we started with, but we now have over 150 pupils coming to classes every week.

“It's been amazing how much it has grown, actually, to the point now that it's just word of mouth that we are looking for pupils and we have waiting lists."

Tickets went on sale last week, with two evening and two afternoon shows, and are selling fast.

Amber became principal of the school, which moved to Mar Street in Alloa in August 2013, 10 years ago.

Since then, she has been aiming for a high standard of excellence, catering for pupils from the age of two-and-a-half to 18 with classes available at every level.

There is musical theatre, ballet, modern and tap – while the school is also famous for its annual pantomime performances.
