MORE than a hundred primary school pupils from across the Wee County have taken to the pitch in a fun football festival.
Nearly 130 boys and girls took part in the Clackmannanshire Primary Schools Sports Association Fun 4s Football Festival, which recently went ahead at Lornshill Academy.
The non-competitive event was held for pupils in P4 and P5 with the aim of introducing children to the game while promoting opportunities to take part in sport across the area.
Robbie Stewart, senior manager for sport and leisure at Clackmannanshire Council, said: “This festival was a chance for young people not currently in a football team represent their school and for others to demonstrate their skills.”
The Sports Development service runs a football class on Monday evenings at Alloa Academy from 6pm to 7pm for young people aged five to 14.
