A WARNING has been issued by police in the Forth Valley after a number of vulnerable people have been targeted by bogus workmen.
The area's police division said bogus workmen have been overcharging for unnecessary work or work not carried out while distracting victims to steal money.
People are being urged to call 999 if they see anyone suspicious at an elderly or vulnerable neighbour's home.
Those concerned that a neighbour or relative has been the victim of a bogus workman, and those who may have information relating to the people carrying out these crimes, are urged to call 101 or to make a report online.
A social media post added: “Please speak with older/vulnerable relatives and neighbours and tell them not to let cold callers into their home, to challenge them for ID and ask them to come back when someone else is present.”
