THE owner of an up and coming business in Alloa is inviting the Wee County to their first open day to allow residents to see their work.

Craig Hunter and his partner Taylor Gillan recently moved their business Beaty’s Sweeties into new premises on Glasshouse Loan as a packing centre for online sweet deliveries.

The couple will be opening their hub to the public and are offering discounted prices on their products on Friday, June 2 from 3pm-7pm.

Speaking to the Advertiser, Craig explained the business started in their spare room over lockdown before becoming quite successful.

He said: “I decided through lockdown that I wanted to give something different a try but never had the courage or confidence to give it a go.

“After building up a plan on what we wanted to do, we started to slowly grow a following and interest.

“After a few months, we began venturing out to stalls and fayres which we really enjoyed and finally outgrew the spare room.

“At the beginning of this year, we made the big move to our packing centre and have been working on some new things to bring to our customers.

“We have decided that this Friday, we’re going to host an open day and, if successful, we will do this once a month or so.”

The first 25 customers to arrive at the open day will receive freebies and there will be products on sale throughout the day.
