AN ALLOA teenager has been jailed for a violent attack on a drunk man who had been "making a nuisance of himself".

Kevin Conway, of Engelen Drive, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court last week via video-link from prison.

The 18-year-old admitted that on September 3, 2021, at Shillinghill, Alloa, he assaulted a man by repeatedly punching him on the head and body, repeatedly kicked him on the head and stamped on his head to his injury.

The court was told the assault victim had been drunk and chasing after youngsters before the incident.

A girl who knew Conway told him what the man had been doing and he became involved.

He confronted the man who swung a punch towards him.

Conway responded by assaulting the man, punching him to the ground, kicking him and stamping on his head.

Defence solicitor Robert Smith said: "The complainer was making a nuisance of himself with the youngsters and then swung punches."

Sheriff Neil Bowie jailed Conway for 160 days.

He added that it was "only through good fortune" that the man was not seriously injured.

Conway is already serving an eight-month sentence imposed at Falkirk Sheriff Court recently.
