A SAUCHIE man assaulted his partner by pulling her hair and clothing.

Dean Ross, 28, of Main Street, appeared for sentencing at Alloa Sheriff Court last Thursday, May 25.

He admitted that on March 14, at Medwyn Place, Alloa, he assaulted his partner by seizing her by the clothing and the hair and pulling it.

Depute fiscal Rachel Wallace said Ross was at the woman’s home and she asked him to leave because he was intoxicated.

He would not go and the woman opened the front door and shouted: “Please get help.”

Ross grabbed her by the dressing gown and by the hair, which was witnessed by a neighbour who then told him to leave.

Defence solicitor Michael Lowrie conceded his client had a previous conviction involving the same woman.

Of the latest incident he said: “It was a drunken argument and he very much regrets it although it’s not the first time he’s acted in this way.”

Sheriff Neil Bowie told Ross that another offence against the same woman was “a matter of concern”.

He imposed a community payback order with 30 months of supervision and participation in the Caledonian Programme for domestic offenders.

He also imposed a one-year non-harassment order and warned Ross: “If you continue to offend in this way you’ll end up in prison.”
