A RANGE of Wee County artists will be welcoming visitors at an Alloa gallery over the coming days.
The Wee Gallery on Candleriggs will feature as one of the venues for this year's Forth Valley Art Beat, showcasing the skills found in Clackmannanshire's creative community.
On Saturday, June 10, the gallery will open at 10am with a range of artworks such as stained and fused glass, collage, embossed metal, paintings and more on show.
From 2pm to 5pm, Julie Dunion will be on hand to answer any questions on her work with copper and pewter.
Julie said: “I learned a method of colouring copper using only a flame to generate different depths of oxidation and create a range of beautiful iridescent colours.”
This technique has been used for the majority of the copper that will be on exhibit.
Janice Headrick will then be in the Wee Gallery on Monday, June 12, to share her experiences of working in oils and collage.
She will be on hand from 5pm to 7pm and will be happy to discuss her fun vegetable paintings or her dramatic depictions of life on the Forth.
Shelag of Glass Art will be in the gallery the next evening, Tuesday June 13, from 5pm to 7pm.
She explained how her love of creating has served as a segue into her exploration of glass and its many facets.
Her experience in mathematics has endowed her work with added weight, particularly in the presentation of nature.
With the glass fusing process requiring 48 hours for a single piece, this form of art can be very challenging.
“I was up at 12.30 one night, I was so eager to see the results because you never know how the finished piece will turn out,” she said.
Her work is individually unique and those behind the gallery say she will have some delightful new pieces on show for the Forth Valley Art Beat exhibition.
On the same evening as well as on Thursday, June 15, resident artist derenz and Janice Headrick will also be on hand and there will be an opportunity to see the derenz studio to see the various creations therein.
Saturday, June 17, will mark the final day of the event and the gallery will be open from 10am.
Those heading along will have the chance to meet Bobby Rennie from 10am to 12noon.
He has expertise in sketching landscapes as well as buildings and will be on hand to discuss his work.
Also on the same day until 5pm, there will be a children's community collage event.
It will be an opportunity for young people to revitalise a collage by expressing their thoughts through paper and glue on a large canvas.
Weather allowing, this will take place just outside the gallery on Candleriggs.
Resident artist derenz and the gallery team are encouraging parents to bring their children to have a go; materials will be available.
