THE team at the Dollar Community Development Trust (DCDT) has announced it has strengthened its numbers with the appointment of three new staff members.

The Trust has taken on Yvonne Alexander as development manager, Mandy Gillespie as administrative assistant and Helen Hudd as project officer for care and connected Dollar.

These appointments form part of a wider strategy of improvements planned for Dollar.

Yvonne will be responsible for promoting the work by the Trust. She has an extensive background in marketing and PR for tourism organisations as well as organising events for charities.

Speaking about her new role, she said: “The Trust relies on the support of members and volunteers and each and every one of them gives up their time for the betterment of the community.

“Being based at The Hive, I can see that there are lots of clubs taking place during the day for all age groups, from sporty seniors to a Baby Café.

“We also have a wonderful marquee for community use and events. I am really looking forward to reaching out to the wider community and promoting usage of The Hive and Marquee, along with the excellent work done by the Trust.”

Work recently undertaken by the DCDT included the gala at the start of the month, with the team looking ahead to the Beer Festival in October.

Stephen Roe, chair of DCDT, said: “The Trust is delighted to welcome on board Yvonne, Mandy and Helen.

“They all have busy roles helping Dollar to be an even better town for our residents and visitors.

“Getting them on board is part of longer-term strategy to deliver a lasting legacy for the local community and visitors based on opportunities and involvement.”
