PLANS for 45 affordable homes in Kincardine have been submitted to Fife Council.

First Endeavour LLP is hoping to build on land to the north of Toll Road, on the eastern edge of the town.

The site is currently open countryside and is allocated for housing within the Fife Local Development Plan.

It slopes from Toll Road in the south and is surrounded by emerging housing sites to the north and west at Burnbrae and Moor Loch Lane.

Access will be from Toll Road and the existing housing sites to the west.

A design and access statement from First Endeavour says the development will be "distinctive and improve the safety and natural surveillance along the A977".

It continued: "It will be well connected, easy to move around and create a more welcoming environment along Toll Road and at the eastern gateway to Kincardine.

"The new development will incorporate a mix of house types which cater for a range of age groups and demographics.

"They will be designed to the latest technical standards in terms of carbon reduction and sustainability".

Developers say the homes will include a range of types from two-bed terraced housing to four- and five-bed family homes.

In addition, there will be terraced and semi-detached homes as well as bungalows and specific needs houses.

They will front onto new streets and open spaces, with an aim to maximise views out of the site towards the Forth.

There is also potential for a second phase, accessed via phase one, with space for 35 new affordable homes.
