A POPULAR Clacks nature spot has sounded their delight with their new wildflower areas, designed to draw in pollinators to the garden.

Tullibody Community Garden partnered up with organisation On the Verge and, aided by the Clacks Council Unpaid Work Squad, refitted the community garden and planted wildflower seed.

The new areas are designed to attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators to the garden, with the aim of creating a valuable eco system in the Wee County.

The Community Garden also hope to use the new area to draw in human visitors too, providing a place for people to visit and relax.

Winnie Anderson, chair of the Tullibody Community Garden, said: "We'd really love people to drop in and enjoy what the garden offs.

"Come and see what we're up to, take a look round, have a chat with our friendly volunteers, buy whatever fresh veg is available, or just come and have a sit in the peace and quiet."

The Tullibody Community Garden is a fully volunteer-led charity, located at Carseview, off Newmills in the town.

"It's an exciting year for the community garden," Winnie added.

"Successful funding bits mean that we are running cookery classes for total beginners, and National Lottery Awards for All funding will allow for community research and business planning to help sustain and develop what we do."

The garden is opened between 11am and 12.30pm every Tuesday and Wednesday.
