AN ALVA man sent abusive messages threatening violence to his former partner.
Kyle Paterson, 30, of The Nebit, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court for sentencing last Thursday, July 27.
He admitted that on June 12, at his home, he sent a message to his former partner in which he uttered offensive remarks and a threat of violence.
Depute fiscal Sarah Smith said Paterson and the woman had a brief relationship six years ago and have a child together.
She said the text messages included the comments: "Ya wee black b******. I'm telling you the now. I'm punching the face clean off you. You dirty little rat b******.
The woman then contacted the police.
Defence solicitor Kelly Howe said the background was an argument about her client not going to spend time with his child, instead going to a pub.
Sheriff Neil Bowie told Paterson: "Your response was clearly distressing to her and it's not surprising she contacted the police."
He imposed a community payback order with 12 months of supervision and a four-month restriction of liberty order.
