A VOLUNTEERING group will be hosting a craft fayre and 'crafternoon tea' session next week.

Friends of CHAS Clackmannanshire has been recently established within the Wee County and will be hosting the fayre on Saturday, September 2.

CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland) is the only service in the country which deals with babies, young people and children with a life shortening condition. Their mission is to make sure all families in that situation receive the help and support they deserve.

Friends of CHAS Clackmannanshire has been set up to help support the charity where it can and will be holding the open day in the Coronation Hall in Muckhart.

Marion Riddell, treasurer for Friends of CHAS Clackmannanshire, said: “We lost our daughter Isla last June and we had the support of CHAS throughout most of her life and especially at the end of her life.

“It’s a cause very close to my heart, I’ve seen first hand the wonderful work they do and they’ve been a great support to our family after she passed.

“They give families so much in very difficult circumstances and we wanted to support them where we can.”

The fair will have a range of stalls, arts and crafts, homebaking, gifts and accessories and children’s activities.

A silent auction will be held alongside a raffle and tombola for visitors, with some amazing prizes on offer.

Refreshments and cakes are included in the entry fee which is £3 for adults and £1.50 for adults.

The craft fayre will be held between 2.15pm and 4.45pm.
