A Sauchie couple have appeared in court for abusive behaviour towards their neighbours.

There were two separate incidents which led to James Paterson, 35 and Sarah Harrower, 39, of Old College View, Sauchie, appearing in the dock at Alloa Sheriff Court. One involved Harrower going outside her home and waving a knife about at the neighbours.

Paterson admitted that on February 24 he shouted, swore and offensive remarks,

Then on April 24, he again shouted, swore and made offensive and threatening remarks.

Harrower admitted that on February 24 she went into the street in possession of a knife and acted aggressively.

Corrine Wilson, solicitor for Harrower, said her client was using a knife in the kitchen when a dispute began between her partner and the neighbours.

“She went outside to see what was happening and was inadvertently carrying the knife,” she added.

Sheriff Garry Sutherland sentenced Harrower to a three-month restriction of liberty order.

Paterson’s solicitor Charlotte Watt said it was a case of “neighbours who simply can’t get on.”

She added: “He’s been running his mouth and he’s very sorry to be before the court.”

Paterson was put on a three-month restriction of liberty order and a community payback order with 12 months of supervision.

The court was told the victims have now moved.
