POLICE are continuing enquiries following reports an 18-year-old man was assaulted in Tullibody last month.

The man was attacked at a bus stop on Stirling Road on Wednesday, August 9. at around 9.40pm.

He reports he was attacked by two males, described as having local accents and wearing dark-coloured clothing.

Both assailants had their hoods up and were also covering their faces. A female was present at the time of the attack and is believed to have been with the attackers.

During the assault, a car pulled over and a man got out to help the 18-year-old. The two suspects and the associated woman ran off.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and suffered serious facial injuries.

Officers have carried out door-to-door enquiries and have been reviewing relevant CCTV from in and around the area but are keen to speak to the man who came to the victim’s aid.

Detective Constable Chris Smith said: “A young man has been assaulted for no apparent reason and it’s imperative we trace his attackers.

“I am asking the man who stopped to help the young man to get in touch with us.

“I’d also like to ask any motorists with dash cam equipment to check their footage as they could have images which could assist our investigation and help us identify the two men responsible.”
