A FORMER history teacher at Alloa Academy will be hosting a talk at the Speirs Centre to discuss his new book.
Andrew Hunt, who formerly held the position of principal teacher of history at Alloa, will be visiting the Speirs Centre next Tuesday, September 19.
He will be discussing his recently published book The Critical Times: Alloa at War 1939-1945, which explores the impact of the Second World War on Alloa.
The book focuses on themes such as education, religion, sport, industry and the effects on women within the town.
This follows up on his first book about the First World War, entitled In the Forefront: Alloa at War 1914-1919.
The event will be held on Tuesday at 2pm and anyone interested can reserve a space for the event by calling 01259 452262.
A second opportunity to listen to Andrew’s talk will be available on Tuesday, October 10.
