A SAUCHIE historian has appeared on television as he discussed latest efforts to track down the Loch Ness Monster.

Malcolm Robinson made an appearance on the Channel 5 documentary Loch Ness, Hunting the Monster to offer up his theories on what the mythical creature could be.

The two-hour documentary aired on Friday, September 22, with the Clacks historian making the trip to Loch Ness to film his part of the show.

Speaking to the Advertiser, Malcolm said it was an honour to lend a hand on a topic he has been deeply fascinated by since his youth.

He said: “Since I was a small boy growing up in Tullibody, I have always had a deep fascination for what could be in Loch ness.

“In 1994, I was fortunate to go down into the murky peat stained waters of Loch Ness in a small submarine.

“I was happy to receive a phone call from Two Rivers Media who were making a two-hour documentary about the Loch ness Monster and asked to travel north to Loch Ness to film my part for this documentary.”

Malcolm’s fascination with the Loch Ness monster and the many theories surrounding its existence has led him to write several books.

One of these, The Monsters of Loch Ness (The History and the Mystery) is available on Amazon.

The documentary can still be viewed on Channel 5 Catch Up and a full list of Malcolm’s complete works can be found on Amazon for interested readers.
