A WEE COUNTY rotary club has been recognised in the regional awards its their innovation work in Perth.

Alloa Rotary Club won two accolades at the District Awards show, one for Best Public Image and the other in the Innovation in Recruitment category.

These awards were granted to Alloa Rotary Club for their work over the past year, with public image team leader Alistair Spowage telling the Advertiser the club was thrilled to be recognised.

He said: “The Rotary Club of Alloa is delighted to be the winners of two awards at the recent Scotland North Rotary Gathering in Perth.”

President of the club Lindsey Spowage was on hand to collect the Innovation in Recruitment Award, while incoming president elect John Allan received the Best Public Image certificate.

Lindsey added: “It is very satisfying to have the recognition of the work done by the club recently marked by these awards, and much credit must go to past president Alun Morgan and the service teams which make the club work.

“John Allan has used his exceptional IT talents to great effect, and over the past few years, the use of new publicity banners and posters, alongside the increased use of online platforms and informative QR codes, brought us many more membership enquiries.”
