THE current division of polling districts is under review by Clackmannanshire Council, with the public urged to take part in a consultation.

The consultation will ask people to provide comments on the current division of polling districts and the suitability of the buildings used on election days for polling purposes.

All feedback received will inform proposals for final consultation in March and April of next year.

Nikki Bridle, chief executive and returning officer for Clackmannanshire Council, said: “The council has a statutory obligation to carry out a review of its polling districts and polling places.

“In carrying out the review, the council has to take into account a range of factors in trying to find a balance which ensures the integrity and efficiency of the poll, together with reasonable accessibility for voters.

“It is important that anyone who wishes to comment on current and potential alternative arrangements take the opportunity to provide feedback through the consultation process.”

This consultation will take place during October and November, with residents across the Wee County urged to leave comments.

These proposals and any further representations will be presented to the council to agree.

The consultation form will be open until December 1 for the public to make their representations and can be found at clackmannanshire.citizenspace.com/resources-governance/polling-station-review-2023/.
