APPEALS for information are continuing following the theft of a garage near Fishcross towards the end of last month.

Ace Autos, located on the A908 near Fishcross, was broken into sometime throughout the night on Saturday, September 23.

Thieves made off with important equipment, including a diagnostics computer, estimating to be worth up to £15,000.

David and Abbé Ferguson have owned the garage for six years and told the Advertiser this is the first time they’ve ever been stolen from.

Abbé said: “We came in on the Sunday morning and the place had been ransacked.

“They had got in through a side door and made off with around £15,000 worth of tools, a £3,000 diagnostic computer which we’ve only had for about two weeks.

“Police came and took a look around and managed to collect prints. They said it looks to be someone professional.

“We’ve been here six years and we haven’t ever had any problems before. David gets along with everyone and is well-respected so we haven’t a clue who it was.

“This is our only income and it’s really knocked us for six.”

The police were called on the Sunday morning as soon as David and Abbé noticed the break-in.

Forensic teams arrived at the scene and combed for any evidence that could help in their investigations.

Abbé said the couple were still waiting on hearing back from the police regarding the investigation but wasn’t hopeful for any results.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police enquiries are ongoing following a report of a break-in and theft of equipment from a garage in Devon Village, Fishcross, Alloa.

“The incident was reported to police around 10.55am on Sunday, September 24 and is believed to have occurred sometime during the night of September 23, 2023.”

Abbé has also launched a Go Fund Me to help raise the cost to replace the valuable equipment from members of the community
