A new beauty salon has opened in Alloa.

Rochelle's House of Beauty, located on Clackmannan Road, offers a full range of beauty treatments.

Rochelle Connelly opened her business in Alloa earlier this year in July, but she has been in the beauty industry since she was 16 years old.

She said: "I have been self-employed for ten years and I have worked in the Alloa area for 18 years, and I stay local and most of my clients were local so I just thought, I'm well-known in the area for beauty, so I just thought it would be a great opportunity for me because people are more likely to go to people that they know than people that they don't.

"So I just thought it's great way for me to help a few other self-employed businesses build up their client base."

Speaking of her first few months since opening, Rochelle said: "It's been a total rollercoaster, so up and down. Just for me, my diary is always full so I am always busy but I did not take into consideration there's ten of us.

"So, I am not just trying to keep myself going, I am trying to help all the staff out, be there for them, get them clients in the door, and I have been working six days a week myself."

Rochelle's House of Beauty differs from many other beauty salons in that it also offers a wide range of well-being treatments. The salon has a life coach who offers life coaching sessions where she can help people with anxieties, stresses, phobias and eating disorders. The life coach can also offer services such as hypnotherapy and reiki.

Reiki is a type of energy healing which aims to ease stress and tension. Hypnotherapy, on the other hand, uses hypnosis to treat conditions or to change a person's habits.

The salon also has Jordan who does psychic readings.

"For anybody who is into that sort of stuff, that can be a bit of therapy in itself, because it can help you focus on the positivity that is coming into your life." Rochelle added.
