An well-known Alloa couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last month.

Scott and Elizabeth (Betty) Douglas celebrated their anniversary with family at Inglewood House Hotel.

The couple first met at the dancing at Cochrane Hall, Alva in 1955. Betty (née Docherty), who is from Alloa, comes from a family of 13 and grew up in Bowhouse Road, Alloa. She worked at Patons & Baldwins Mill in Alloa.

Scott, who is originally from Braehead Forth in Lanark, came from a family of three.

After three years of dating, Scott and Betty married in St Mungo's Parish Church, Alloa, on October 11, 1958.
