Some of NHS Forth Valley’s healthcare heroes were celebrated at this year’s Scottish Health Awards 2023.

Ward 4 at Forth Valley Royal Hospital was named the winner of the Top Team Award.

By caring for dementia patients who often display serious challenging behaviours and require high levels of care, the nurses navigate an unthinkable level of complexity and skills that are required to manage both physical and mental disorders simultaneously.

Everyday, the nurses strive to improve patients’ quality of life. Alongside this, the Ward 4 nursing team is achieving even bigger goals by transforming the ward to better benefit patients.

Run by the Daily Record and in partnership with NHS Scotland and the Scottish Government, the annual awards celebrate the NHS staff, support workers, volunteers and specialist teams who go above and beyond to provide exceptional care and support to patients and their families.

Patients, families, work colleagues and members of the public were invited to nominate a local hero across one of the 16 award categories with over 900 nominations and 51 finalists named.

Winners were named at an awards ceremony at the O2 Academy, Edinburgh.
