A TULLIBODY chicken farm went on fire over the weekend, with the huge blaze seen from all across the Wee County.

Flames quickly spread through the building at Ochilview Farm at around 2pm on Saturday, November 11.

Pillars of smoke could be seen from as far as the Clackmannanshire Bridge as fire services arrived to put the fire out.

Emergency services attended the scene, with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sending four appliances to the scene.

Thankfully, the SFRS confirmed that there were no reported casualties despite the size of the fire, but significant damage was caused to sheds at the farm.

A spokesperson for the SFRS said: “We were alerted at 1.58pm on Saturday, November 11 to reports of a fire within a farm building at Ochilview Farm.

“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances and a specialist resource to the scene, where crews extinguished the flames.

“No casualties were reported. Firefighters left after ensuring the area was made safe.”

The cause of the fire is unknown at the time.
