"There were no reports of any injuries."

McGill's Buses confirmed they are investigating the incident, which occurred on their 324 service.

A spokesperson for Midland Bluebird said: "On Tuesday, November 21, passengers on board one of our buses in Stirlingshire had to leave the vehicle after a fault developed which led a fire starting within the engine area.

"All passengers were successfully evacuated and we thank those on board for following the instructions of the driver to disembark.

"We are now working to determine the exact cause of the incident."
