A MAN sent abusive messages to his former partner and also to another person.

Thomas Cannon, of Main Street, Winchburgh, appeared for sentencing at Alloa Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on various occasions between April 17, and August 14, 2021, at Ashley Terrace, Alloa, he posted offensive messages via social media and text towards a man.

The 47-year-old committed the same offence towards a woman between July 1, and August 14, 2021.

The court told the messages had been sent to Cannon's 'ex' and her new partner, whose business page on Facebook had been targeted.

Sheriff Neil Bowie imposed a community payback order with 250 hours of unpaid work and 12 months of supervision.

Cannon was also put on a non-harassment order for 18 months.

The sheriff told Cannon: "If there's any repeat, you'll be looking at a custodial sentence."
