Clackmannanshire Council has received a planning application from local businessman Gagandeep Kahlon to transform Tillicoultry’s former Eagle Inn into a dentist surgery and a hot food takeaway.

If approved, the proposals would bring 110 High Street back into public use.

The Eagle Inn has been vacant for sometime. Prior to its closure, it was listed for sale on a commercial real estate website in July 2017.

The new proposals would divide the former pub in half. The Eagle Inn’s existing Lounge Bar would be converted into a dentist surgery with two dentist rooms and a reception and waiting area.

Meanwhile, Mr Kahlon has proposed turning the existing public bar and kitchen area into a hot food takeaway.

There are no details about the proposed businesses within the planning papers.

However, the proposed opening hours for the dentist surgery are from 8.30am-6pm Monday to Friday.

The proposed takeaway hours are from 10am-10pm seven days a week.

The local planning authority will consider the application and make a decision in due course.
