A MAN has died and two women have been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash in Cambus in the early hours of this morning.

The 48-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision on Alloa Road at around midnight on Sunday, January 7.

Two women were also taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where one is described as in a critical condition while the other was described as serious, but stable.

The crash involved a Citroen C1, a Ford Fiesta and an Audi A4, taking place on Alloa Road, near Park Terrace in Cambus.

Following the incident, the 32-year-old female driver of the Ford Fiesta was arrested, with Police Scotland confirming enquiries remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around midnight on Sunday, January 7, 2024, police were called to a road crash involving a Citroen C1, a Ford Fiesta and Audi A4 on Alloa Road at Park Terrace, Cambus, Clackmannanshire.

“A 48-year-old man, the rear seat passenger of the Citroen C1 died at the scene. The driver and front seat passenger, both adult females, were taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

“The passenger’s condition is described by medical staff as critical, and the driver’s condition as serious but stable.

“The two occupants of Audi A4, a man and woman, were not injured.

“The 32-year-old female driver of the Ford Fiesta has been arrested following the incident.

“Enquiries are ongoing. The road is now open.”

As reported by the Advertiser, the A907 Alloa Road between the Dumyat roundabout and the Arnsbrae roundabout was closed at around 1am while police conducted investigations.
