AN ANNUAL race around Clacks has set a date to return for 2024.

The Gartmorn 6 race, organised by the Wee County Harriers, will be held on Sunday, March 10 this year.

Following the Brothie Burn and circuiting the Gartmorn Dam before finishing in Carsebridge, the race has been a popular one in the past, attracting many people of different abilities and skill sets.

Kerri Hutchison, race organiser, is excited to hold the race again this year and hopes to attract as many runners as possible.

She said: “The event has always been popular among the established racing community but we would also like to attract as many local people as possible as it showcases excellent walking and running routes within Clackmannanshire.

“This provides an opportunity for the race to build a legacy through promoting health and wellbeing in our local area.

“We expect to have in excess of 200 runners competing, with over 170 seniors and 20 juniors already signed up.”

The seniors race will start at 10am, following the six-mile course starting and finishing in Carsebridge, with a mixed terrain of tarmac, trail, mud and bridge crossings.

For juniors, their race has a distance of 3k and starts at 10.15am, with the same starting location but loops back towards Gartmorn Dam before returning to the start point via Jellyholm Road.

Teas and refreshments will be held in the Sauchie Hall. Entries can still be made at entrycentral.com/Gartmorn6.
