Two men have been sentenced for their part in a disturbance in an Alloa pub.

One of them assaulted a police officer and both appeared for sentencing at Alloa Sheriff Court for offences committed between July 16 and 17 last year.

Scott Herrington, 34, of The Tannery, Tullibody, admitted that on Drysdale Street, Alloa, he assaulted a police officer by seizing him by the neck to his injury.

John McEwan, 33, of Lochbrae, Sauchie, admitted that at The Old Brewery Bar, East Vennel, Alloa, he shouted, swore and made sexual comments towards a female member of staff.

Sheriff Neil Bowie put Herrington on a community payback order with 200 hours of unpaid work.

McEwan was sentenced to a community payback order with 100 hours of unpaid work and one year of supervision.
