A BUS shelter on Tillicoultry's High Street was smashed to pieces by malicious vandals last weekend.

The back window panel of the shelter was smashed, with glass littering the pavement around the bus stop.

This follows on from one of the side panels being destroyed the week before, with vandals repeatedly targeting the bus shelter.

Tillicoultry, Coalsnaughton and Devonside Community Council released a photo of the damage, condemning the vandalism.

They said: "This is a well-used bus shelter at the top of the High Street that protected people waiting for a bus.

"The council is already on a tight budget without having to try to find the money to fix pointless destruction within the community.

"We will have to wait and see if the council have the money to fix this shelter.

"A member of the community council has cleaned this (and the other shelters) for a number of years so it's disappointing that someone comes along and smashes the shelter.

"So if you find yourself waiting for a bus in the pouring rain and no bus shelter, don't blame Clackmannanshire Council, blame the person that smashed up the shelter."
