A TWELVE-day beer festival will be coming to Alloa next month, promising a wide range of real ales from all across the globe.

The Bobbing John, on Drysdale Street, will host the festival and will be importing a selection of beers from Taiwan, Germany, Belgium, Italy and the USA.

Pubgoers across Clacks can enjoy the festival, set to take place from Wednesday, March 6 to Sunday, March 17.

Not only will a range of new beers be on display, the pub will be slashing their pints for the celebration, which will see them charge £1.99 a pint for the new selection.

Amng the festival collection will be a number of vegan beers as well as a different malt and hop varieties from around the world.

The festival line-up includes Spring Frenzy, Grizzly Bear IPA, Disco Macaw, Chocolate Ale and Germain among others.

Sarah Murdoch, pub manager for The Bobbing John, said: “The festival is a great celebration of real ale.

“It will allow us to showcase a selection of superb beers, including those from overseas, over a 12-day period, at great value for money prices.

“It will also give our customers the opportunity to enjoy a number of beers which have not previously been available in the pub, as well as those brewed specially for the festival.”

Three third-of-a-pint tasters will also be available for the price of a pint. Tasting notes on all beers will be available as part of a festival magazine, available physically and online.
