DROP-IN consultation events are set to be held in Kincardine on proposals to build a substation near the village.

SP Energy Networks has lodged a proposal of application notice with Fife Council, looking to construct a 400kV substation, along with ancillary development including overhead line modifications.

The substation, if approved, will be sited on land around 700m north of Hawkhill Farm, east of the A876.

Two round of in-person drop-in events will be held to allow people to hear about the proposals.

The first will take place at Kincardine Community Centre on Tuesday, June 18, from 2pm to 7pm.

A second event is to be held in late August as part of the pre-application consultation for the plans.
