Enrolment for evening classes at Forth Valley College are now live and an Evening Course Information Event at the Falkirk Campus on Thursday 13 June, could unlock your potential for work and play.

If ever there was a time to learn new skills that could lead to full-time courses, better your job prospects, enhance your existing career or even find a new one, the time is now.

FVC’s new range of evening courses guarantee to offer something for everyone, including subject areas such as Art & Design, Creative Industries & Media, Hair & Beauty, Hospitality & Cookery, Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) and much more.

Evening courses for 2024/25 which will take place at FVC’s Falkirk and Stirling campuses, are available to view on the College website, enabling applicants to transform their career path, CV, skillset and creative and cultural hobbies.

Forth Valley College Principal, Kenny MacInnes, said: “Our evening class programme delivers a good balance of both academic and leisure based courses. The programme will appeal to a range of learners regardless of their age, circumstances or reasons for applying.

“Evening classes can help you to progress your career, transform your life or find a lifelong passion. They can also offer the opportunity to meet new people and expand your social or professional networks. We can help you make the most of these opportunities, ‘making learning work’ for you.”

Those interested in higher level study will be attracted to the range of Higher National Certificates (HNCs), Highers, and the vast range of leisure classes that are also expected to generate a lot of interest and have the potential to develop useful skills which will enhance everyday life.

FVC will also be hosting an information event specifically for our evening courses on Thursday 13 June 2024 at our Falkirk campus, 4.30pm-7.30pm.

This will provide an opportunity for those interested to come and see the facilities in person and speak to various curriculum managers about the courses on offer. Interviews will be held and if successful, enrolment will take place on the night. Our leisure courses will also be available to book and pay at the event.

If you are aged 16 or over, living in Scotland and earn £25,000 a year or less you can access a Part-time Fee Grant from the Scottish Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS). The level of funding is dependent on the number of credits studied (for HNC level and above). You can apply and access the full eligibility criteria via the part-time funding section of the SAAS website at: www.saas.gov.uk.

There is also opportunity to pay by instalment to spread the cost. Payment by instalment is available, provided the course fee is £150 or greater.

You may be eligible for a fee waiver for your course if you meet the eligibility criteria which includes certain benefits such as Universal credit. This is also dependant on the course you wish to study. Further information on fee and funding for evening courses can be found under the more information section of each course on the college website.

FVC is looking forward to welcoming potential students to its Evening Course Information Event to find out more. For additional information and to book visit forthvalley.ac.uk/evening or e-mail eveninginfo@forthvalley.ac.uk or call 01324 403123.
