A MAN has been left in a critical condition after being involved in a crash on the M9 on Sunday.

The 26-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the incident which took place at around 5.05pm on Sunday, June 2.

The crash, occurring near junction 7 for the M876 Falkirk, involved an Audi car and a cyclist, who was the man taken to hospital.

A second male cyclist, aged 29 was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for assessment, while the driver of the Audi was not injured.

The road was closed to allow for investigation and recovery, reopening at around 12.30am on Monday, June 3.

Inspector Andrew Thomson, from the Stirling Road Policing Unit said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances surrounding this incident remain ongoing and we are appealing to anyone with information to please come forward.

“We are particularly keen to speak with any motorists who were in the area around 5pm on Sunday and may have dashcam footage, which could prove useful to the investigation.”
