A VIOLENT sex offender has been given more jail time after being caught with an unauthorised SIM card in a phone at Glenochil prison.
Christopher Hyde, 41, a prisoner at HMP Glenochil, appeared in the dock at Alloa Sheriff Court for sentencing.
He admitted that on January 26, he was in possession of a mobile phone containing an illicit SIM card.
Depute fiscal Sean Iles said Hyde had handed over the phone during a search of his cell.
Sheriff Neil Bowie gave Hyde another six months in jail to run consecutively to his current term.
In August 2022, Hyde was sentenced for offences including rape, assault, stalking offences and attempting to pervert the course of justice at the High Court in Edinburgh.
He was jailed for four years and 11 months and given an Order for Lifelong Restriction, which means that if he released, he will be subject to conditions and monitoring for the rest of his life.
