A SERIAL shoplifter threatened to bite an Asda worker shouting: "I'm Hep C".

Michelle McShane, 41, of Hallpark, Sauchie, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court from custody.

She had been released from a jail term on June 26 and did not turn up for a court appearance the next day.

She admitted that on October 22, at Asda, Alloa, she stole clothing.

She also stated she was a carrier of hepatitis C and threatened to bite a female employee working as security.

Then on December 24, at Poundland, Alloa, she stole clothing and cleaning products.

In the Asda incident, McShane was stopped leaving the store and told the employee: "I'll bite you if you don't let go. I'm Hep C."

Sheriff Neil Bowie said the threat was an escalation of McShane's offending behaviour and jailed her 180 days.

McShane has still to be sentenced for other matters and will return to court on October 17.
