A WOMAN suffered more than two years of domestic abuse in Tillicoultry, including physical assaults.

The culprit was 35-year-old Mohammad Liaqat, who appeared in the dock at Alloa Sheriff Court with a translator.

Liaqat, of Leslie Street, Glasgow, admitted that between July 21, 2021, and October 9, 2023, at his home, Hareburn Road, Tillicoultry and elsewhere, he engaged in an abusive course of conduct towards his partner.

He repeatedly accused her of infidelity, shouted at her, repeatedly telephoned her and sent her messages in which he made abusive, sexual and threatening remarks, made threats, repeatedly referred to her in abusive and derogatory terms, bit her on the body, pushed her on to a bed and punched her on the head to her injury.

Sheriff Neil Bowie deferred sentencing until September 12 for an assessment for the Caledonian Programme for domestic offenders.

He also imposed a four-year non-harassment order.
