A MAN has been sentenced for subjecting his former partner to months of domestic abuse in Alloa.

In the dock at Alloa Sheriff Court was Martin McCormick, of Torogay Street, Glasgow.

The 44-year-old admitted that between July 1, last year, and February 5 at Inglewood Road, Alloa, he engaged in an abusive course of conduct towards his ex-partner.

On an occasion between October 1 and 31 he attended at her home uninvited, shouted, swore, acted aggressively and spat on the windows.

On December 16, he again attended uninvited, shouted, swore, acted aggressively, referred to her in derogatory terms and repeatedly knocked on her door.

On February 5 he attended uninvited, entered the property shouted at her, said he was recording her on his phone and would post it on social media.

The court was told the couple had been in a relationship which lasted around eight years.

Sheriff Neil Bowie imposed a community payback order with two years of supervision and participation in the Caledonian Programme for domestic offenders.

McCormick was also put on a two-year non-harassment order.
