A KINCARDINE man has been banned after being caught drug-driving.
Lewis O’Donnell, 41, of Kincairne Street, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on 3rd November in Kirk Street, Kincardine, he drove a car when unfit to do so through drink or drugs.
Depute fiscal Christine Allan said there had been a crash which attracted the attention of local residents and O’Donnell was seen trying to push his vehicle away from another, which had been struck.
When police arrived, O’Donnell was sweating profusely, his speech was slurred and he said: “It’s my medication.”

Defence solicitor Amy Harley said her client’s mobility had been affected by breaking his back on two occasions and he had sometimes resorted to taking illicit substances to tackle the pain.
He had been taking cocaine and cannabis before this incident.
“He’s very remorseful and describes it as a moment of stupidity,” she added. “He says he has no intention of driving again.”
Sheriff Krista Johnston banned O’Donnell from driving for two years and 10 months. He was also fined £590.
