THOUSANDS of pounds worth of equipment was stolen from a golf course in Bannockburn this week.

Theives broke into the premises at Brucefields Golf Course, rifling more than £18,000 in goods.

After entry was forced to the American Golf premises on site, a large quantity of Callaway, Ping and Taylormade golf equipment, including irons, drivers and putters, were stolen from within.

Police are appealing for witnesses following high-value break-in and theft, which happened at around 10.10pm on Wednesday, August 22. 

Detective Sergeant Liam Harman, from the priority crime team in Stirling, said: "It is likely that those responsible for this break-in will look to sell the stolen items on and so anyone who is approached by individuals looking to offload golfing equipment like this should contact police.

"As part of this investigation we are keen to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the golf course on Wednesday evening.

"If you have any information relevant to our inquiries then please get in touch."
