A POLICE investigation is underway following an incident of wilful fire-raising in Forth Valley which caused "substantial damage".

The incident happened at a property in Lyoncross, Dennyloanhead, around 3.20am on Saturday, May 9.

The fire was safely extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no one was injured.

Police have now appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Inspector Rob Andrews, of Falkirk CID, said: “Thankfully nobody was injured as a result of this deliberate fire, but the property has sustained substantial damage.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Dennyloanhead area at the time of the incident to contact police.

“Although this was early in the morning, I would encourage anyone who has dashcam footage that may assist with our investigation to come forward.

“Anyone with any information can contact Police on 101 quoting incident number 0706 of Saturday, May 9.”
