IT HAD been a productive year already for Gerry Son & The Smokin' Gun, with an EP and album already under their belt.

However, the four-piece have released an added sweetener to bring the curtain down on a fairly dour 2020.

On Tuesday, December 1, the Stirling-based quartet unveiled Ten Minutes To Midnight - an acoustic album featuring of alternative versions of existing songs favoured by fans and the band itself.

Fully recorded in "rockdown" - each track can be seen as a cinematic acoustic version of the original.

The EP also features a cover of Soul Saviour by The Colony. This song is taken from the 2019 album Smoke and Mirrors, originally produced by Gerry Son and bandmate Roddy MacKenzie.

The band self-describes their music as dark, funky alternative rock with singer Gerry Son adding: "We want to make music to fill that void created by modern life."

The group consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Gerry Son (formerly of Hooks N Crooks - Denny/Glasgow), along with guitarist and producer Roddy MacKenzie (formerly of The Colony- Stirling/Glasgow).

On the drums is Ross Pilgrim (The Last Act - Alloa/Glasgow) with Greg Scholarios-Hadlow (formerly of Hooks N Crooks - Denny/Glasgow) on the bass.

The band have two other EP releases date, including Pleasure Pursuits from last year and Like This EP in 2020.

They also unveiled their debut album Cheap Dirty Love earlier this year.
