LIV DAWN has been turning heads with the release of her track Welcome Home earlier this month.
The Loch Lomond singer unveiled the single on December 4, garnering national radio play from the likes of the BBC and Jim Gellatly.
The track has a rich history for the artist as it secured her place in the final of the BBC's singer-songwriter of the year award in 2019.
While the response was certainly positive for the singer, the constraints of the pandemic halted her progress.
However, a year on from her final appearance, Dawn arranged a fuller version of Welcome Home from her small studio set-up.
Eslpeth Mackay, a strings performer at the singer-songwriter award, crafted a cello arrangement along with Gus Harrower, one of the other finalists, recording a piano track to compliment the original melody.
Dawn wanted to involve those linked with the singer-aongwriter award within the creative process to maintain the special connection between her song and the award.
Welcome Home tells the tale of a friend returning home who Liv has not seen in a long while, and she asks if time has changed them.
The single touches on mental health, the importance of looking after oneself and growing as a person.
