'TIS most definitely the season to give the Scottish music scene yet another bow of appreciation.

Lockdown has been a huge kick in the Jingle Bells for most, but artists all over the country have taken the opportunity to work away like little elves on a number of projects to bring some festive cheer this season.

Today saw a handful of new releases to add to the mountain of Christmas crackers on offer.

Take a look at some of the best 2020 tracks to get you through the break - feel free to sing along until you get tinselitis.

The tracks

Cameron Barnes & Blythe Duff (feat. The Red Hot Chilli Pipers) - Fairytale of New York
A gorgeous kilted take on the classic with all Taggart actress Duff and Barnes proving terrific partners for the track. Can't beat a bit of Christmas bagpipes.

The Lutras (feat. Carly Connor) - Give it Up For Christmas
A pleasantly laid-back festive track from the Dumfries lads, backed by the amazing vocals from Carly Connor (read more).

Tide Lines - Christmas Time
Featuring on the band's Lockdown Mixtape EP (released today), this track has a wonderful sing-along factor to enjoy.

Dionne Hickey - Won't You Be Mine for Christmas
Originally a 2014 single, but the Falkirk singer re-released the track this winter to help raise funds for Maggie's Forth Valley (read more).

Carla J Easton - Spending Every Christmas Day with my Boy
The 'Weirdo' singer is back with her own festive bop that is right on brand. Released as part of the three-part A Very Weird Christmas EP, featuring two covers.

The B - Christmas Time (For Everyone)
Fife singer worked alongside Coen Rhys to deliver this total brammer for the holidays.

Louise Connell - For Christmas
A truly heartbreaking song, but helps to shine a light on the very real plight of foodbank service users across the country and how they are treated by the public (read more).

Lapwing - Hope Christmas Gets You To Me
The duo have already taken the world by storm with this track - cracking the iTunes download chart and getting the odd celebrity endorsement as well (read more).

Braw - A Glimpse of Christmas
A dose of Buble for sure, but tremendous festive pick-me-up. Will be spilling my tipple while dancing to this. Their O Holy Night version is also... braw.

Paper Rifles - Santa's Got the Vaccine
It wouldn't be Paper Rifles without a little side dish of political commentary, but if you've heard the title of this track and DON'T want to hear it, then you're on the naughty list.

Cutchy Cash - Different Kinda Christmas
Probably the most Christmas-y song going, a superb addition to everyone's festive playlists.

Oh! Paulo - Christmas in Amsterdam
A raw and emotional track from the Granite City singer - really does take you away.

Skerryvore (feat. The Cash for Kids Choir) - Happy Xmas (War is Over)
Another classic cover from the Scottish Trad powerhouse, released today with all proceeds going to Clyde Cash for Kids.

The Eves - Christmas In Summertime
Not a new track this year, but always worth a plug as the Scottish pop duo offer up a dreamy festive track.

Foreignfox - Driving Drunk For Christmas
No Scottish Christmas playlist would be complete without this cracker, going back to 2015 for the Fife band.
