THE margins could not have been tighter at the end of voting for The Weekender’s inaugural Scottish music awards.

Of the four categories on hand, three were decided by just a single point with the other prize by two points.

The judges were given the tough task of rating the nominees, following a flood of nominees throughout the month of November.

Eight acts were shortlisted for both the Album of the Year and EP of the Year, with 16 tracks nominated for both the Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year.

But the rulings are submitted and checked with the winners announced below.

The Weekender Album of the Year, sponsored By Party at the Palace & Party at the Park

WINNER: The Ninth Wave – Infancy

The Ninth Wave have been crowned winners of the first-ever Album of the Year Award from The Weekender and will be offered the opportunity to play at either Party at the Palace or its sister festival Party at the Park this summer.

The Weekender EP of the Year, sponsored by Stirling City Radio

WINNER: st.martiins – Hoping for the Worst

The winners of the EP of the Year Award has been confirmed as st.martiins with their release Hoping for the Worst. They will be invited to take part in a special EP feature at the Stirling City Radio studios.

The Weekender Song of the Year, sponsored by Forth Valley College

WINNER: Dictator – Days Gone By

Alloa and Hillfoots Advertiser:

Dictator edged out some intense competition to become the first-ever Song of the Year Award winners and will be given the chance to have a new track recorded and mastered for free by sound engineer Barry Frame at Forth Valley College.
